Weekly Worktable

Hello, my name is Kate, and I'm an addict... a beading addict, that is. I have so many ideas running through my right-oriented brain, that I leap from project to project, leaving a wake of UFO's.

Betty Stephan, a fellow beader, show's pictures on her Facebook fan page called "weekly worktable". This seems like such a good idea. If I try to do this, maybe I'll get the bug to finish pieces that show up too many weeks in a row? What the heck, I'll try it and see if it helps.

What's on this week's worktable:

Tan: A beautiful labradorite cabochon is front-and-center of a collar-to-be.
Green: a bead embroidered clutch purse I've had in the works for about a year
A brown and blue fringed foliage necklace I should have finished later today
A polymer clay pendant that's waiting for the perfect bead to embellish the little leaves.

What do you do to keep the UFO's under control? Really... I'm asking.

~~~
Meanwhile, I did finish a fringed foliage necklace and got it listed yesterday.
Head on over and take a peek. Also, I'm offering free shipping within the US and Canada through December 15.
Have a creative day!
Your work is stunning! Absolutely love it! 8D
Curious...how long does it take you to get a beaded creation done if you worked straight through? This is good idea in getting your project done. Perhaps, I should give this a try as well!
What gorgeous work you're doing, Kate. I love seeing projects in progress so thanks for sharing your work table. I hope this process sets the fire under you that you're looking for to get some of those UFOs finished. :)
You have so many pieces going at the same time! I tend to start one and finish it..or sometimes not :)
This will be a treat to see what you have in the oven...
I have no hope for keeping my WIP's under control! LOL I do go on a "finish WIP's" spree every once in awhile...
You know what they say..."A ceative mind is seldom tidy". I'd rather b messy and creative than the other way around. I also have 3-4 projects going at a time. A friend of mine has several differant beading boards (with edges) that she works off of, shifting the ones she is procrastinating on to a shelf while she works on the current project. It's easy to alternate boards instead of having 3-4 projects spilling into each other on one board.
I think that I set work aside for a reason. Sometimes, something is wrong and I don't have the heart to rip it out at the moment. Sometimes I just have a new goal or priority, sometimes there is no hope and an idea has to be chucked completely, but again, it takes time to come to terms with the loss. But photos of WIP are always useful, so whatever floats you boat. Your work is beautiful, and I love what's on the bench right now!
Kate,
I'm so glad I am not alone. I have to wait until Im sure my brain is tired before I can go to bed. If I don't, my mind keeps designing in my head.
Do they make meds for that?
Your work is freakin amazing and I'm so grateful that I get to see it. It inspires me to be a better artist.
Gorgeous work, I love your color palate - and of course your style.
With photography, I find that it often really helps to set a photo I'm not sure of aside for a while, eventually the answer comes to me.
you're just figuring out that you're a beading addict?! Yes, but what a beautiful addiction you have :).
Lunch = excellent idea. Time = geez! We are definitely overdue... it really might be end of month before I'll allow myself. I'll let you know...
I too tend to have works in process. Sometimes it gets out of control. I am an accountant in the real world and disorder is my usual nemesis. In my alterego, chaos rules it seems. I think I like my beading life better!!
